The struggle that started in November 1997 ended with the arrival today of the green card. (It’s not green anymore.)
How loud can we scream, how high can we jump? We arrived home tonight to find Amos’ green card in the mail.
It is hard to describe the feeling that comes with this small piece of plastic. For so many years, it is as if we were on a ship. We have not felt solid ground beneath us for the past 9 years. For over a 1 1/2 years, we were separated for lack of a VISA. Suddenly, with solid ground beneath our feet, my footing is unsure - and unfamiliar.
Be sure - I am happy! I’m feeling overwhelmed with joy.
Now, as when I graduated from college I am left with the question: what now? What do I do with our life now?
How do I look at life differently now!
Certainly it is with rejoicing song!
