Another couple forced to leave the country

When will this ever end? When will our federal government understand that thousands of couples are affected by this and do something about it? How is it that in this day and age, a gay/lesbian American still has to fight for his/her right to sponsor his/her partner for a green card, even though they are in love, and in a committed relationship.

And you know what? Thanks to DOMA, the defense of marriage act, the federal government will still not recognize your relationship even if you are legally married in California or Massachusetts.

It is time for congress to pass the Uniting American Families Act now. It is time to stop working hard on this bill and just start sponsoring the bill to ensure that all couples get the same states and federal rights.
